So what is a Yoga retreat?
A retreat weekends or week is an opportunity to step away from ongoing commitments and just stop “doing”. When we stop, we give ourselves the chance to notice what is really going on for us. We get to bring back balance into our lives, to breathe a little deeper, calm the nervous system a little and start to look at life with fresh perspective. A Yoga & Mindfulness retreat is a withdrawal to focus on the practice of Yoga and Mindfulness.
The retreats I teach are currently offered to all levels of Yogi’s, from complete beginners to those with lots of experience. I instruct different options to people from basic to advance depending on the group. We practice evening and morning Yoga classes and Mindfulness before lunch. We take time to sleep well, use the Spa pools, go for a walk, maybe even get a massage, then we eat well to nourish the body.
When we practice Mindfulness and Yoga we become more aware of our bodies and senses and allow ourselves move from the “Thinking mind” to the “Sensing mind”. This quietens the monkey mind, that constant chatter of our thoughts and helps to sooth the nervous system.
I choose Brooklodge Hotel for both its Luxury, its beautiful location in the Wicklow Valley and its organic wholesome food. All which aiding the process of switch off, nourishing and self-care. Taking care of ourselves not only benefits us but everyone we come in contact with especially our friends and family.

2018 was a very mixed year for me, but I was so happy when we finally moved into our lovely new home, was blessed with a gorgeous new nephew and have created some wonderful memories with my family.
As I settled back into life with two busy teenage boys, I’ve had to make a few changes to facilitate smooth running of our family life!
So it was a sad goodbye to The Yoga room, where I’ve met so many lovely people and have done a great deal of leaning and growing both as a student and a teacher.
I have decided to keep a few classses going close to home and focus on the few retreats I run each year. So to let you know I will now be teaching a Wednesday evening and a Tuesday morning class in Monkstown and Blackrock
I’m also very excited to be back teaching Teen Yoga on Tuesdays 5.30pm-6.30pm. I’ve been teaching teen Yoga since 2010. After a short break I’m now very much looking forward to working with amazing young people and helping them to find their way, at this sometimes challenging time in their lives.
In January I am running the first of this years retreats in Brooklodge. This retreat is currently fully booked but April 5th-7th I am hosting a second one so please get in touch for more information.
